The Mk4 Polo GTI (2006 - 2009) wasn't – soggy handling saw to that – but it had the looks, and it had turbo power in the shape of the 150PS version of the 1.8 20V engine. To battle more powerful rivals, VW introduced a GTI Cup Edition, which had the 180PS version of the same engine and several sporty add-ons… but no better handling.
